New Moon Wishes

New moons are perfect for promoting new beginnings. The energy of the new moon is a great time to set intentions for things you’d like to create, develop, cultivate, and manifest.

With this in mind, I’ve decided to start writing down my wishes, needs and wants at each new moon for the month ahead.

Just like positive affirmations, you need to write your wish in the present tense as if you have already achieved it. For example instead of writing “I want to be slim” write it as if it was already true, for example “I am slim, fit and healthy”.

You can start your wishes with the words “I wish to …” or use the words “I am”. “I am” is a very powerful way to start your wishes as the words you add after “I am” shape your reality.

It’s important to handwrite your wishes, as oppose to type them. Something magical flows through you when you handwrite your wishes. When you write your wish, you crystallize it and give it tangible form. You create something you can touch and see. A wish that is not written down is just fantasy – there’s no energy behind it.

You can write a number of wishes, but it’s more potent when you focus on less than ten wishes. Use your intuition to assess whether your wish is the right one for you. Tune into your heart and then write your wish. If it doesn’t feel right, change the wording or the wish until feels right.

Sometimes wishes may not take longer than a month to manifest, others may appear in a different form or they may not be for your highest good. Be patient. Trust that changes are occurring, and most importantly have fun!

According to Jan Spiller in her book ‘New Moon Astrology’, the most potent time to make your new moon wishes is up to 8 hours after the time of the new moon, but they can be made up to 48 hours later.

So why not use today’s new moon to write your own new moon wishes.

The sound fills your whole mind, silencing mental chatter. This creates space that allows your higher self/sub conscious to come through to your conscious mind. From this space you can then see what you need to do, giving you the option of then taking action or not.

Full Moon Meditation

Full MoonThe full moon is a very powerful time for meditation. Each month we will take advantage of the unique energies which are pouring forth during this high time of the moon cycle to enhance our meditation.

The following extract from Alice Bailey’s book explains why the moon has such an affect on us:

“Perhaps some of you may get increased light upon the usefulness of the attempt if I tell you the interesting fact that-at the time of the full moon-it is almost as if a door suddenly opened wide, which at other times stands closed. Through that door, ingress is possible; through that door or opening, energies can be contacted which are otherwise shut off; and through that door approaches can be made to the planetary Hierarchy and to reality which are at other times not possible.”

The meditation starts with a very brief discussion on the energies of the full moon, followed by a mindfulness of breathing meditation and a guided meditation appropriate to the season. No experience needed.

When: 8pm on the evening nearest the full moon.
